Making Cents Conference: Dr Sanjaya Acharya discusses the current youth oriented finance restructuring in Nepal

Dr. Sanjaya Acharya, Senior Economist for New ERA Nepal, provides insights into the restructuring of youth finance in Nepal and the work that New ERA is doing in this field. Dr. Sanjaya presented his findings at the Making Cents International Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference in Washington, DC.

Bio: Dr. Sanjaya Acharya

Dr. Sanjaya Acharya is a Senior Economist with New ERA, a private Nepalese research institution specializing in development research, with particular emphasis on education, population health, labor force, migration, rural development, and equity studies. Dr. Acharya holds a PhD in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and also from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. His research interest covers economic reforms in developing economies and their impacts on the livelihood of the poor people. He is the author of the book on ‘Pro-poor Growth and Liberalization in Developing Economies: the Case of Nepal’ to be published by Routledge, Taylor and Francis Group, in July 2011.
