At 16 years of age, Sumaiya from Bangladesh challenged social norms surrounding early and forced child marriage, successfully changing her parents' minds about the value of education for women and girls.

This Gender Equality Annual Report 2023 highlights the global challenges we face, the remarkable impact achieved to date, and visions for the future of gender equality.

CARE has supported the empowerment of 16.5 million women and girls since 2015, fostering gender equality across diverse contexts. Looking beyond 2023, CARE will continue to deepen its focus on centering gender equality in all we do.
