The USAID-Foras Jobs Portal

The USAID-Foras project is helping Iraqi businesses make smarter hiring choices through the Foras Jobs Portal. The portal’s robust capabilities help to match the most qualified candidates with job openings by allowing businesses to pass applications through a customizable filter. The process reduces the administrative burden of recruitment, saving businesses both time and money.

USAID-Foras recently held a roundtable for businesses and intermediaries, at which they demonstrated the job portal’s capabilities. The roundtable helped to increase awareness of this helpful tool within the business sector. Spreading knowledge about the Foras Jobs Portal through forums like the roundtable will not only benefit employers, but will also benefit future employees as more businesses use the portal to search for candidates.

Providing support for job matching is one of the ways USAID-Foras helps connect job seekers, employers, and intermediary companies. The USAID-Foras project is building these linkages through training, community outreach, and the Jobs Portal, designed to improve the efficiency of the labor market. The USAID-Foras Project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Mission to Iraq (USAID/Iraq), is an Associate Award under the FIELD-Support LWA, which aims to connect skilled job seekers with private sector employers, helping to alleviate unemployment and boost the Iraqi economy.
