Savings Groups for Adolescents and Youth Affected by HIV: A Technical Guide

This guide’s focus is on HIV-affected young people aged 14–24 years who participate in youth-only adolescent and youth savings groups (AYSG).  While evidence about HES interventions with this population is limited, this guide draws on existing evidence and lays out guidance for implementing organizations and donors to make evidence- and practitioner-informed decisions about the design and implementation of AYSG programs that maximize benefits for, and minimize risks to, young people affected by or living with HIV.

This handbook will assist practitioners and specialists in monitoring and evaluation in the selection of vulnerability assessment approaches for economic strengthening interventions. The focus is on programs for orphans and vulnerable children supported by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), where economic strengthening is used to increase resilience to negative HIV-related outcomes for children. The handbook is intended primarily for development programs in relatively stable contexts rather than emergency relief work.

Themes & Takeaways from the "Local Content Ecosystem" Roundtable

Youth Inclusive Value Chain Analysis and Development: A Concise Handbook

Inclusive value chain development does not require a radically different way of thinking than traditional value chain development. It does, however, require understanding that a traditional value chain analysis will not tell us everything we need to know and that value chain its nature.
