First, economic growth is necessary but not sufficient to impact nutritional status. Further, growth in agriculture is generally more beneficial for nutrition than growth in non-agricultural sectors, though this depends upon the size of the sector, the resulting impacts on food availability, and the extent to which food security is a challenge.
