Cambodia: The Private Sector's Contributions to Family Planning Market Growth

The Cambodian family planning market experienced significant growth from 2000 to 2014, with the modern contraceptive prevalence rate among married women increasing from 18.8 to 38.8 percent. The private sector played a large role in this market growth. A SHOPS Plus analysis revealed several economic, sociocultural, policy, and programmatic factors that facilitated the private sector’s contributions to increase the modern contraceptive prevalence rate.

Accelerating Sustainable Growth in Post-Conflict Serbia

This study is part of a series of guided case studies aimed at exploring whether and under what conditions the application of a value chain approach can help accelerate economic growth in conflict-affected environments. The case study attempts to evaluate the impact of two types of development interventions in the dairy sector in Serbia: one targeting processors the other focusing on farmers. It provides various recommendations for future value chain development initiatives in post-conflict environments.

Kosovo Dairy Value Chain Case Study

This study is part of a series of guided case studies aimed at exploring whether and under what conditions the application of a value chain approach can help accelerate economic growth in conflict-affected environments. The case study looks at the sector selection process used by donors and implementing agencies in Kosovo from 1999 to 2007 to determine whether dairy was an optimal sector for development in Kosovo. The study also presents an analysis of donor projects targeting the dairy industry in Kosovo during the same period to see how approaches and interventions evolved over time.
