Amazon Vision Report 2021

HIFIVE Success Story: Leveraging ICT to Improve Access to Financial Services

USAID’s HIFIVE program, led by WOCCU and FHI 360, has partnered with caisse populaire SOCOLAVIM to support the credit union to tackle critical barriers to expanding access to finance in the Artibonite department of Haiti.  This success story explores how SOCOLAVIM with the support of HIFIVE was able to interconnect all of SOCOLAVIM’s branches by investing in information and communication technology (ICT).

Value Chain Tools for Market-Integrated Relief: Haiti’s Construction Sector

This study is part of a series of guided case studies aimed at exploring whether and under what conditions the application of a value chain approach can help accelerate economic growth in conflict-affected environments. It documents the use of the value chain approach to shift the design of an infrastructure program from direct implementation to longer-term, sector development. The study focuses on the USAID-funded, CHF-implemented KATA project, which aims to advance stability in Haiti’s most conflict-prone cities by stimulating employment and supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis (EMMA) is a rapid market analysis designed to be used in the short-term aftermath of a sudden-onset crisis. This report uses the EMMA tool to analyze the agricultural labor market system in the Sud-Est (Southeast) department of Haiti in March-April 2010, several months after the January 12 earthquake in Haiti. The report describes the baseline and the affected situation of the agricultural labor market system and analyzes the likely impact of various interventions aimed at meeting households’ basic needs.

This report uses the EMMA tool to analyze the beans market system in the Sud-Est (Southeast) department of Haiti in March-April 2010, several months after the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The report examines constraints in the beans market system, the earthquake-related disruptions that persist, and provides short-term and long-term recommendations.
