The fifth session in the USAID Microenterprise Development office's mini-series on the impact of the current global financial crisis on microfinance institutions and their clients, "Are Remittances Still Resilient? Exploring the Impact of the Global Economic Downturn on Migration and Remittances," took place at the offices of QED Group LLC in Washington D.C on April 15, 2009, and simultaneously as a webinar in order to enable remote participation. Borany Penh (USAID/MD) moderated a discussion with Kathleen Newland (Migration Policy Institute), Sanket Mohapatra (World Bank) and DeVere Kutscher (Microfinance International Corporation) on how remittances and migration flows have been affected.
