Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (PIIF)

The first progress report on the Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (PIIF) indicates that the signatories are making headway in client protection and environmental issues: all participants endorsed the Client Protection Principles and 90% reported a procedure for integrating environmental issues into their investment decision making. However, there is a gap in corporate governance – equity investors report having board seats with just half of their investees – and there are several additional areas where there is room for improvement.
