Thank you to those who attended the July 10 Roundtable on Resilience and Market Systems and contributed to the lively discussion. Moderated by Greg Collins of USAID's Center for Resilience, the panel event included presentations by Tanya Boudreau of the Food Economy Group, Gabriela Alcaraz of Chemonics, and Ryan Vroegindewey of the USAID Office of Food for Peace.

The presentations were followed by a lively discussion that further highlighted the important work that remains to be done in understanding the interactions of resilience and market systems and in setting up rigorous methods for measuring those interactions. In his remarks, Mr. Collins recognized the progress made in recent years in understanding resilience and market systems and challenged the community to make significant progress in a matter of months, not years.

At Chemonics, we are taking that challenge seriously by establishing resilience measurement frameworks and methods at project launch (for relevant projects) and by investing in evidence-based applied research to deepen our understanding of market systems and resilience, both in our Agriculture and Food Security Practice and company-wide.

For those who were unable to attend or are interested in additional information, please see the event presentations to the right, as well as live stream videos of the event and a selection of resources related to resilience and market systems.
