After Hours Seminar #21: New Models in Housing Microfinance (Presentation) On April 22, 2008, USAID's Microenterprise Development office held the 21st installment in its Microfinance Learning and Innovations Seminar Series on new models in housing microfinance. As housing microfinance continues to gain attention from both private and social sector interests worldwide, new models have emerged to attain a greater scale and move further down the market. This After Hours reflected on some of these new models in the housing microfinance industry and the possibilities and constraints of each. With Irene Vance of CGAP's Housing Microfinance Working Group as moderator, Franck Daphnis focused on the commercial bank downscaling model, Patrick Kelley focused on the MFI/NGO model, and Stephanie Schmidt focused on the manufacturer/retailer corporate engagement model.
