This is the presentation from a webinar where panelists representing the Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA) members discussed case study findings examining local capacity building and the impact of gender integration. VEGA undertook a four-month initiative to identify and extract lessons learned about local capacity building from a collection of its member programs. From women in Tanzania who learned how to artificially inseminate cows, to women learning skills to become real estate agents in Uganda, to women improving their association practices in Jordan, each member organizations' program contributed to USAID's goal for gender equality and female empowerment. Panelists shared what worked, what can be improved, and what should be replicated by practitioners of future USAID and other international development programs.

The case studies were funded through VEGA's core Leader with Associate Award funding from USAID.
