David Bloom of Harvard University presented, Integrating MSEs into Value Chains: Evidence from Guatemalan Horticulture and Handicrafts. The seminar was the 17th installment of the Linking Small Firms to Competitive Strategies Breakfast Seminar Series sponsored by the USAID Microenterprise Development office.

Bloom recently concluded a research program assessing the determinants, nature and consequences of MSE participation in the horticulture and handicrafts value chains in Guatemala. During his presentation of this research, Bloom focused on two areas of interest, the implications of his findings for future projects and the innovative approach taken by his team in conducting their research.
