HIFIVE Earthquake Recovery and Stabilization Grants Help Microfinance Institutions Restore Operations

This success story discusses the creation of the USAID funded HIFIVE Earthquake Recovery and Stabilization Grant program. Following the devastating earthquakes on January 12, 2010, USAID Haiti and HIFIVE launched the grant program which aims to provide support in key areas where MFIs need help to restore their capacity, including equipment replacement; funds to stabilize capital to fund lending to clients and to the development of new products adapted to client’s post-quake needs; and employee stabilization and human resources.
