By request from USAID, the ASPIRES project is conducting an evaluation of the SCIP-Zambezia program in Mozambique, which is implementing an integrated social empowerment and savings-led microfinance intervention. The purpose of the evaluation is:

  • To determine if the economic and social empowerment intervention being implemented by the Strengthening Communities through Integrated Programming (SCIP) program in Zambezia, Mozambique reduces adolescent girls' vulnerability to HIV; and 
  • To elucidate the causal pathways of economic and social empowerment on reducing adolescent girls' vulnerability to HIV.
