Although projects may be designed with the intent of using a value chain approach, without effective internal operations and core staff capacities and behaviors they will likely fail at creating systemic change.

This talk explores key drivers needed to spark and sustain organizational change, such as a change champion within the project and the use of formal mechanisms for encouraging staff to take a facilitative approach, as well as intangible aspects of a culture of learning and innovating. Presenter Mina Shahid draws from experiences working with three different projects trying to implement a value chain approach, all to varying degrees of success.

In addition, a powerful framework for behavior change will be introduced – useful both for organizational change efforts within projects and for designing interventions to influence key market actors in the value chain system.
