The third session in the USAID Microenterprise Development office's mini-series on the impact of the current global financial crisis on microfinance institutions and their clients, "Coping with Price Spikes: The Impact of Food and Fuel Inflation on MFIs" took place at the offices of QED Group LLC in Washington, DC on February 11, 2009, and simultaneously as a webinar in order to enable remote participation. Thomas Debass (USAID/MD), Tanir Helayel (MF Analytics), and Peter Siu (CGAP) discussed the findings of the recent CGAP and USAID-funded surveys on how food and fuel inflation are affecting MFIs and their clients. The presentations were followed by an engaging Q&A session with the audience.
