This paper translates some of the key roles that a market facilitator is asked to play into tangible examples that help practitioners better understand their roles and responsibilities. These case studies explore situations where market facilitation was applied well or poorly in order to draw out important insight on how to effectively and practically do market facilitation. These case studies highlight particular skills - specifically communication, relationship building, systems analysis, coaching, and innovating - that staff used in different situations and the results that each achieved.
