Collaborating with Young People in Rural Mountain Areas:  A Dynamic Reference Guide on Youth Employment is a guide authored by Erin Markel and Margie Brand and produced by the Aga Khan Foundation Canada.  The document steers programme developers and practitioners through the daunting amount of youth employment literature from key references and credible sources. The guide focuses on presenting key lessons learned from youth employment programs in two sections: i) information gathering techniques and ii) intervention areas. Information is structured using a framework developed by the International Labour Organization around their Youth Employment Network's "4E's:  Employability, Equal Opportunities, Entrepreneurship and Employment Creation.  For further information, Appendix 1 offers an annotated bibliography on key reviewed literature and Appendix 2 provides a detailed list of available toolkits and guides.  Appendix 3 presents projects relevant to mountainous areas. The guide is a working document that will be updated over time to include emerging lessons.
