The Capacity Building Bottleneck

Women earn a living. Credit: Wim Opmeer, KenyaCGAP recently conducted a survey to better understand the dynamics of the market for capacity building services in developing countries. More than 400 financial service providers and 200 capacity building service shared their perspectives and challenges. The survey confirmed that the lack of capacity remains a major bottleneck for scaling up and diversifying quality financial services for low-income people. Nearly half of the financial services providers that responded indicated improving capacity is their primary challenge. Read the results at CGAP.org.
