Webinar: Public Procurement for SMEs
The Donor Committee for Enterprise Development is hosting a webinar on the use of public procurement policies and procedures to stimulate new market opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The webinar will present the findings of recent research on this topic and describe a series of best practices. This information is contained in a technical report and policy brief that the DCED recently published.
The webinar is being organized for anyone who is interested in this topic and primarily for donor and development agencies and their program partners, such as developing country government officials, business representative organizations, and program staff.
The webinar will focus on the following topics and questions:
What is the purpose of public procurement for SME development?
What types of approaches have been used? What approaches appear to work and not work?
What issues should be considered by donor agencies and their program partners?
