LINC's "Network Analysis for Systems Thinking: Understanding Actors and Relationships" training is optimized for international development practitioners, including NGOs, contractors and donors who would like to apply systems thinking to their own overseas development projects. Over 4 days, participants will be introduced to systems thinking for development; will learn and apply actor analysis, social network analysis, and action planning; and will gain experience with Kumu, an online software program for analyzing social network data.

Course objectives include: 

  • Using a systems thinking lens to understand actors, networks and relationships
  • Understanding the benefits and uses of Network Analysis for international development
  • Learning how to conduct a Network Analysis in a development context
  • Understanding the benefits of pairing Network Analysis with qualitative approaches
