Cracking the Nut Africa 2013 | David Weiss – CHF International

David Weiss of Global Communities (formerly CHF International) recently sat down with Microlinks to discuss the Cracking the Nut Africa conference, a joint effort of Global Communities, USAID/Rwanda, and AZMJ. Weiss looks forward to bringing a variety of people and organizations together to share experiences, learning and innovations. He also speaks about the external challenges to improving rural livelihoods and food security, sharing how Global Communities is working to tackle them at the community level through various projects in Africa.

David Weiss is current President and CEO of Global Communities (formerly CHF International), where he works to bring about sustainable change in the developing world. Before joining Global Communities, Weiss worked on government relations as a Senior Policy Advisor at DLA Piper. He also has nearly two decades of experience working with the federal government, for which he won the U.S. Department of State’s Superior Honor Award. With experience in both the U.S. government and the private sector, Weiss is currently drawing upon his extensive cross-sector expertise at Global Communities, which he describes as a “for impact” organization.
