Introduction

The Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Southern and Central Africa Hub is proud to announce the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded launch of the WE4F Zimbabwe Biogas call for innovations. 

The International Labour Organization is looking for two project managers and one VCD / MSD expert for two upcoming Market Systems Development projects in Mali (one Sida-funded and one AICS-funded) that will focus on agricultural value chains in southern regions of the country, from the July 2023 to December 2026. The projects main objective will be to create jobs and increase incomes for women and youth such that these can make their way out of poverty.  See more information on the projects and positions in the links below:

The culture of food safety in Senegal leaped forward recently with the announcement of the winners of the youth competition on “Smart Food Safety.” The competition solicited innovation smart phone applications to assist small business owners to adopt safer food handling practices. “Samba the Fisherman from Soumbédioune” took first place at $10,000 and second and third-place winners claimed $5,000 and $3,000 respectively.

The Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships Activity (MSP) is pleased to invite for-profit businesses to apply for funding in Mozambique. MSP’s Mozambique Partnerships Facility offers businesses operating in the country the opportunity to co-invest with USAID to address the food crisis resulting from shortages of food, fuel, and fertilizer as a result of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
