Call for Market Systems Development Tools

The Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships (MSP) Activity is launching a stocktaking of market systems development (MSD) tools to develop a curated, centralized, open-access web-based MSD tool repository. The tool library will be hosted, maintained, and kept up to date by the BEAM Exchange to ensure ongoing support and engagement of the MSD community. Contributions can be uploaded via this form.

This stocktaking is focused on tools that serve a specific practical function in operationalizing the MSD approach within the program cycle and have proven utility and impact. We provide examples of what does and does not qualify as a tool below.

• Examples of tools we are looking for: Practical aids for market systems analysis tools and tools for applying MEL and social inclusion in the MSD space; MSD tools that might be an annex to a larger document; and, proprietary tools that can be described in the library and contact information shared.
• Examples of tools we are NOT looking for: Case studies; technical reports/studies; primers/briefs; evaluation reports; policies; and, strategies.

Tools will be categorized and curated to maximize the usefulness and usability of the library, which will include tools that the MSD community considers to be useful, with good value for money, including both tools that are already widely used and promising emerging tools that may require additional tool trails. We encourage MSD practitioners and donors to participate in this sharing and learning effort by submitting their MSD tools, with the original branding and marking of the tool developer/owner, via this form.
