This regional, Spanish-language event aims to create convergence, mutual learning, and collaboration between LAC firms, organizations, and individuals working to create inclusive market systems and those who study, use, and promote technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, with connections to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Core themes:

  1. The Future of Work brings together private sector industry leaders, donors, labor and economic development experts to explore "the future of employment" in Latin America and learn from successful models and tactics that are applied in the region.
  2. Disruptive technologies to transform society will focus on how companies of different sizes are using or plan to use fourth revolution technologies to remain competitive and make their markets more inclusive, productive and efficient; what are the challenges they face in terms of personnel selection, skills development, organizational learning and culture; What lessons are they learning? How are policies and institutions affecting entrepreneurial ability to progress and contribute?
  3. Preparing Our Cities for the Future will explore how a market systems approach can lead us to opportunities for the most pressing development problems facing our cities, especially by looking at circular economies, mobility in modern urban economies, construction. sustainable and safe housing and the new dynamics and connections between rural and urban development.

The interactive conference will include thematic sessions, plenary, skill-building workshops and clinics, experience exchange sessions, and opportunities for poster submissions and a technology fair.

This event represents the continuation of an effort of 60 experts on socio-economic development issues that in January 2017 agreed in Lima, Peru, to create the Latin American Network of Market Systems Development. The objective of this network is to promote dialogue, collaboration and mobilization around important issues for the development of markets that contribute to the reduction of poverty in the region and to the increase of inclusion, productivity, efficiency and environmental protection.
